"Ba Booooom Ba Booooom!" The sound of the conch rang. Everyone stopped what they were doing to go and listen to the new leader, Ralph. They started talking about how we will be rescued, a snake beastie in the forest and that we will make a huge fire with a lot of smoke so if any boats comes near the island they will see it and come rescue us all. Once they started talking about that, the group tumulted and got out of control. When we got the order back Jack, the leader of the Hunters, insisted on making the fire right then and there. When Jack left, the rest of the group followed him up the mountain. Ralph and I was the last to leave the beach. It was irresistible not to just yell at Ralph for not letting me talk but yet I did not.
We just followed the rest of the group up the mountain. The mountain was steep, but not that steep. I walked up nimbly towards everyone. When I looked around the mountain I saw many warped trees. They looked sad and like they lost there spirit or soul. When they started gathering the wood I looked at them scornfully. They were rude and did not bother making sure that everyone was there at the moment. I had a feeling that someone might be missing, but I never knew who. While they gathered dry leaves, warped trees and twigs I sat there holding the conch. I held the conch because I felt it was the most important thing on this island right now because it controlled the order to our little civilization. They probably just thought that I would be officious with gathering the wood. When I finally realized that I was on the mountain I walked over to the rest of the guys.
When I went over to Ralph all he says is, "Do you have matches?"
I said, "No, I do not."
Then one of the boys in the group said we should use my glasses to start the fire. Once he said that everyone surrounded me as if they were the hunters and I was the prey. Jack just attacked me for my glasses and when he took them I felt like I was an blind person. Once they started the fire Ralph got my glasses and gave it back. When he gave it back I was really mad. The fire spread everywhere but it didn't get far. When I looked around I finally found out who was missing, it was the young boy who brought up the idea of a beastie snake in the forest.
